There are few animated movies more controversial for we children of the 80’s than G.I. Joe: The Movie.  Much like the Transformers movie released around the same time, G.I. Joe set out to revamp the Real American Hero franchise by phasing out some big-name characters and introducing a new generation of characters into the mythology.  In some ways G.I. Joe The Movie was the beginning of the end of Joe’s wave of popularity in the 80’s. The movie introduced a new very sci-fi/ fantasy angle to our Real American Heroes and it didn’t necessarily mesh with the military theme of the toys, comics and cartoons up to this point.

The special features on the Under the Red Hood DVD are all hit or miss. Keep reading to find out which is worth the time, and which ones you can skip.  

The second short DC Animated movie is based on the melted faced sharpshooter, Jonah Hex. Find out why this peek into the dusty western world fell flat just like it’s live action counterpart inside.  

Under the Red Hood was not the most memorable story in comics. It brought back a character that everyone hated and made him a cheque villain for Batman and his family. Where the comic did not rivet me, the new direct to DVD animated movie had me feeling emotions, something only America Tails brought out in me as a little kid.
