The new SDCC black and white Captain America was not the greatest figure made in the Marvel Universe, but is cool. Check out the figure inside.

This is one figure that I was lukewarm about getting this year, but the deco and the box sold me once I saw him in person. While at first I was not going to open the figure, the more I looked at it, I had to open it. My first thought was... I have enough Captain Americas around and did not need this one open, but the kid inside me made me do it.

This figure is not much different from the Secret Wars two pack, or the Invaders four pack, but is an interesting figure to have around. I don’t think this was made for the kids, but more as a display piece.  Even after opening the figure I can’t seem to find a place other than on my desk to put him.

While the figure himself is just a black and white Cap with great paint aps, the package is where the figure shines. The box comes in a black and while sleeve with a sketch of Captain America on the front and a colored shield on the back which stands out. The inner box is the normal Marvel Universe packaging, with some changes. The figure is labeled 00, making him the first figure of the line. There is also an ice effect painted into the package, like this Cap is frozen. The top secret file is different for this version of Captain America than the Invaders set. All of these little details make this a worthwhile figure for the Marvel Universe collector, and a fun exclusive that, while not a must have for the line, is a welcome addition to any Marvel fan’s collection.
