Kastor: With the great news that JLU will continue through the end of the year is there going to be a theme ? For example: Completing some of the glaring omissions missing from the like like Kalibak and the Ultimen? Or continuing comic decos on the JLU bucks?
Matty: The only theme is doing as many fan requested characters as we can along with a few surprises!
Kastor: From time to time characters are revisited in the JLU line that are not completely accurate, like Batman and Martian Manhunter. Is Kilowog considered a finished character, or is he on the list for a more accurate larger version?
Matty: The DCUC Kilowog from wave 11 is final. The JLU one could always be redone on proper scale one day.
Kastor: You have said in the past that a DCUC weapons pack would be too expensive to tool new accessories, but what about old ones. Fans have come up with a long list of previous accessories that would work in the the pack. Batarangs, Kryptonite (new colors), Lanterns (Green and Yellow), Electric wrist clips( Wave 2 Superman), Mother Boxes, and many more that fans have been turning to customizers for. Would those fall under the new tooling issue?
Matty: It is possible, but there are not as many re-deco opportunities with those accessories and we really don’t want to just re-release existing accessories as is. (Unless that is something fans want?). As for tooling, we would rather use our limited budget on new figures at this time.
Kastor: What is the time frame for a reveal of the Green Lantern movie figures? WIll we see a preview at SDCC or will it closer to the end of the year?
Matty: Possibly in early 2011. Nothing is locked down yet. You will not see GL movie figures at SDCC 2010.
Kastor: Is there a chance that MOTU Subscription holders for 2011 would be able to order monthly items from Mattel early to avoid the traffic on the 15th? Something like the Battle Cat coupons, or is this like pre-orders impossible?
Matty: No, there are not any plans to offer this service to Club Eternia members.
