Check out the new answers from Matty.
Kastor: One of our readers noticed that the Super Powers version of the characters are using a lot of new tooling like Golden Pharaoh and Cyclotron, while characters that are inaccurately scaled like wave 3 Robin and Sinestro have still not been addressed. Once the SP figures are out of the way will we see more original tooling for the rest of the DCUC line?
Matty: Many characters require high and medium levels of tooling. This does not take away “tooling” from a character like a new Sinestro because we won’t be doing Sinestro again in the standard “waves”. A new Sinestro is something we still really want to do. We just need to find the right way to offer him outside of the “wave” releases. Just because you are seeing another figure first it doesn’t mean this tooling was “taken away” from another. It doesn’t exactly work that way!
Kastor: While we know you can't comment on unannounced figures, it seems like some of the thunder of SDCC rumors have been stolen by some the recent retailer lists. How much of the future DCUC waves do you anticipate will be shown at SDCC?
Matty: We hope to have at least one new wave of DCUC figures to show off at SDCC as well as some surprises!
Kastor: A lot of toy lines are moving towards the 3 3/4 scale figures, but it seems that the DCIH are reaching the end of the line. Is there any chance the line can be revamped to be smaller scaled DCUC figures with the same articulation, or will the JLU be the only smaller scaled DC figures?
Matty: We will have announcements about our 3 ¾-inch scale figures at SDCC. We do have big plans for this scale in 2011!
Kastor: While the first three of the larger scaled MOTU figures have been announced, are there any hints as to the last one of the year? A beast, giant, or army builder? Humanoid or animal? Male of female?
Matty: The final “large scale” item (essentially, anything priced higher then $20) for 2010 will be an army builder two-pack. We will reveal this at SDCC!
Kastor: The DCUC line started with a normally scaled figure as the C&C, since then all of them have been larger scaled. Are there any plans to give us smaller C&C's anytime soon? There are a few characters that could benefit from this.
Matty: We do have plans for more 6-inch scale Collect and Connect figures, which will be plus’d up with more accessories like Element Man. Stay tuned!
