Toys R Us has ten exclusives which will make their debut at Comic Con next week. With some big company tie-ins, previews of some exciting new toy lines, and even the first, ever Joss Whedon figure the TRU booth should definitely be on your shopping list.
It looks like the cosmic cat is out of the bag– Latino Review is reporting Marvel Studios will announce Guardians of the Galaxy as their next big movie at Comic Con. Guardians is expected to be released in 2014, and will tie in directly to The Avengers 2. But who will the Guardians be? Here’s our best guesses…
Entertainment Earth has a full lineup of Comic Con exclusive items, but that’s not all– the pop culture kings will also be hosting exclusive meet and greets and signings at their booth, including creators of the Venture Bros, Adventure Time, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, Richard Kiel (“Jaws” from the James Bond series!), and Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch of Battlestar Galactica fame. The Amazing Spider-Man just is. It’s entertaining sometimes, it’s not bad but it’s not that good either. Leaving the theater and trying to formulate an opinion of what I’d just watched, I tried to decide if there was more good than bad. I eventually came to the conclusion that I was probably putting more effort into forming my opinion of the film than the writers actually spent writing it, and therein lies the film’s main issue: it’s simply another by-the-numbers superhero film that could have been so much more.
The RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan is making his directorial debut with The Man With The Iron Fists, which looks like the ultimate tribute to chop-sockey Kung-Fu, Anime and Martial Arts movies. It also looks completely crazy!
Sony’s reboot of Spider-Man is a solid, but nowhere near perfect new start for the wall crawler that brings us the best cinematic version of Peter Parker and sets the up the potential for some great new big-screen adventures.
Racing titles come in all shapes and sizes, from simulators that offer incredibly deep car customization and true-to-life physics to off-the-wall arcade racers that allow you to guide everything from go-karts to hovercrafts through insane courses. Somewhere in the middle (but certainly more towards that latter) lies the newest offering from 2XL Games and Reverb Publishing, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, which marries realistic vehicles and courses with super-fun and accessible arcade handling.
