Are you like me? Are you trying to figure out why Hasbro chose this character to grace our shelves? I certainly don’t understand why Hasbro would pick the Guavian Enforcer for wave two, especially given the great characters we have actually seen in the trailers. Nonetheless, this is the guy they chose, so let’s move on.
When Poe was first revealed as the new “Han Solo” type character in The Force Awakens, only one thing crossed my mind. What kind of name is Poe? Aside from having perhaps the least intimidating or cool names ever, Poe Dameron is nonetheless a core character and thus was destined to be one of the first figures in Hasbro’s Black Series line. Fast forward some time and we are graced with this incarnation of the new X-Wing pilot, and frankly, it is how most Black Series figures should be done from now on.
Going into Force Friday, I had a set plan of what to buy and what to avoid. However, many of the items on said list weren’t available, leaving me with a little extra money. Cut to a few days later and a new shipment arrived at Toy’s R Us containing some of the unseen Star Wars product. Although I was skeptical of the new vehicle at first glance, it must be said that it is a quality piece.
The first toy released for The Force Awakens was the First Order Stormtrooper back at San Diego Comic-Con. Being an exclusive to that event and then briefly released on Hasbro’s website, many people weren’t able to get their hands on him. Luckily, Hasbro decided to re-release the new Stormtrooper in the standard Black Series 6-inch line.
Ever since the first teaser dropped many months ago, we as Star Wars fans have been wondering who the mysterious cloaked man with the crazy lightsaber is. As time passed we learned his name, his past, and not much more. Now, as collectors, of course we wanted to have Kylo Ren grace our displays. Enter Force Friday.
