PAX East 2013: Hands-On with Dead Island Riptide

Dead Island: Riptide

Deep Silver’s immersive first-person, cooperative shooter returns the characters to an island setting they thought they had left behind to relive the nightmare all over again.  At this year’s PAX East, housed in Square Enix’s booth space, Dead Island had a nice little display area hosting a twenty-minute long demo, complete with headsets and mics for party communication, that fans queued up for hours to play through.

PAX East 2013: Tiny Brains Delivers Big Fun

In comparison to previous years, it seemed indie developers had the run of the floor at PAX East 2013, showing off a huge number of great projects for PC, iOS, and current-gen consoles alike.  Without a doubt though, one game, even in its early stages, stole the show – Tiny Brains.

PAX East 2013: Elder Scrolls Online is Shaping Up Well

Bethesda hit PAX East full force this year.  Their booth had a commanding presence as a gigantic screen running a looped Elder Scrolls Online trailer stopped con-goers dead in their tracks and throngs of gamers queued up to catch a few minutes of hands-on time with the upcoming title.

PAX East 2013: Who Watches the Watch Dogs?

Watch Dogs PreviewFans at this year’s PAX East waited hours upon hours outside of Ubisoft’s enormous multi-theater display to catch a glimpse of their Watch Dogs presentation.  The game has plenty of buzz circulating it and with good reason — Watch Dogs looks to be one of the most creative and ambitious video game titles in years.

PAX East 2013: Kanzume Goddess Review

Japanime games ran a rather non-descript booth at this year’s PAX East with a minimal setup featuring two styles of playmats for use with their popular Tanto Cuore games, a physical copy of the upcoming Krosmaster Arena which is currently up on Kickstarter, and a table demoing their brand new release, Kanzume Goddess.
