The buzz had been building for years about the Return of Marvel Legends, although the sales of the first two waves of figures came as a surprise to everyone, including Hasbro. Now the company finds themselves in an interesting spot where demand is very high… but they need to think smart if they’re going to keep this line going as strong as we all hope.
In the last two weeks, Warner Bros has released over a dozen new posters and promo banners for The Dark Knight Rises, and they really run the gamut from bad to awesome. Just for fun, we’re ranking the posters in order from the worst to the best… check it out and let us know if you agree!

Today, both TriForce and Square Enix announced Q4 2012 release dates for their new Mass Effect 3-themed pieces. Don’t let that stop you from getting your pre-orders in early, though — historically, both companies work with rather limited runs that tend to sell out quickly and, considering the popularity of the source material along with the fact that they all look awesome, these won’t likely last long.
When NBC announced the best show on their network, Community, was being picked up for a short fourth season, there was much rejoicing… but now it looks like we may have been a little pre-emptive in that celebration. Community will be coming back in the Fall, but showrunner/ show creator/ overall genius Dan Harmon has been removed as showrunner by Sony.

There is a thought running through my head “I have done this already”. It mostly applies to toys but it can apply to almost any collector.
The Avengers movie was not only a great blockbuster, but a smashing success– beating records for the biggest opening weekend of all time, and in no danger of losing steam anytime soon. But Hasbro’s toy line has been suffering, and is under-performing at the worst time imaginable. The toy company can still course-correct, but they need to get to work right away.
Coming from the “cool zone” (as well as the “too much time on his hands zone”), Nick McKaig has covered the Star Wars theme song using only his own voice!
In the last couple years, I’ve been reading comics more than I have since the early ’90’s, due specifically to the explosion of creativity that seems to have been sparked in large publishers and indie outfits alike. It seems appropriate then that my all-time favorite publisher, Valiant, is being has been resurrected to deliver the greatest comic universe ever to a new generation of readers.
Since last time we checked in with Mattel, we all received the total bummer news that the Young Justice toy line has been cancelled… In memory of that great toy line that left us all too soon, we dedicated more than a few questions this month to some YJ details, including Mattel’s thoughts on why the line couldn’t continue and the fate of the final 6″ waves shown at Toy Fair 2012.
On a more positive note, we also get a few hints on Matty’s plans for WWE deco changes, their new plans to reveal Masters of the Universe between Conventions and more– keep reading for all the answers!
I know, I know, this isn’t a music review site. We’ve never highlighted any musical acts before and likely won’t again, but this is a special occasion – Miami-based outfit, Torche, released their new full-length LP today and I’d be doing our readers a disservice not to recommend it. Now, in general, music is an extremely subjective thing and, with so many choices and endless lists of sub-genres out there, it can be tough to gauge what people will respond well to. But Torche is the one band that I always find myself recommending to people without any inkling of their individual tastes. The body of work they’ve created has a universal appeal that deserves a spot in everyone’s collection. I could be off the mark but, if you’re not already familiar with the band, give them a listen and see if you don’t agree.
