DC Club Infinite Earths Adds Starman to the JSA Roster

The basic figure for July in Mattel’s Club Infinite Earths is Starman. Nope, not Ted Knight.  Or his son Jack… This is the JSA/ Legion Starman AKA Thom Kallor.

NECA’s Borderlands Figures Are Impossibly Cool

NECA has made great use of several gaming licenses including BioShock, Assassin’s Creed, and Gears of War, so it came as no surprise when they announced they would be creating a line of action figures for the Borderlands franchise.  It was also less than shocking, given NECA’s track record, that both pieces from the first series benefit from outstanding sculpts and killer paint work.  Let’s check out their take on two of Pandora’s most familiar faces and go in depth with this excellent addition to NECA’s Player Select line.

Black Widow Bishoujo Gets A Fantastic Upgrade

The most recent addition to the excellent Marvel Bishoujo collection from Kotobukiya is a new take on Black Widow, and the iconic Avenger’s new version is one of their best pieces yet.  The Covert Ops edition of Black Widow brings the sexy, stealthy heroine to life in what should be the centerpiece of any Avengers or Daredevil display.

White Jinx Is A Cool Variant

Keeping up with their trend from the last few years, Hasbro released a very limited, and already highly sought-after variant of their awesome GI Joe Jinx figure.  The alternate take on Kim Arashikage sports a new, unmasked headsculpt and a white version of her costume, and it’s a great figure for any die-hard Real American Hero collectors.

2012 marked the Return of Marvel Legends, and Hasbro is going all-out with an amazing box set of Legends figures available at Comic Con. Comic Con Gets Jinx-ed, In The Best Way Possible

One of the most exciting exclusives Hasbro is bringing to Comic Con is the GI Joe Kim Arashikage figure, marking the return of the Joe team’s resident lady ninja to the 25th/ Modern era. With an incredible new sculpt, great accessories and a classic look, I don’t think Jinx could have turned out any better.

Playmates Shells Out Their (Mostly) Great New TMNT Figures

Since their debut at Toy Fair in February, I’ve been highly anticipating the release of Playmates’ new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line.  Based on Nickelodean’s upcoming CGI-animated reboot of the television series, the titular characters sport fresh new sculpts that pull elements from both the original Mirage comic series as well as the classic animated series, but with some creative new twists.  Unfortunately, while all four turtles look and feel incredible, the supporting cast received a rather below-average treatment, hurting the line as a whole.

Hasbro’s Avengers Legends May Be The Best Toys Of The Year

For the past few weeks, collectors everywhere have been staking out Wal-Marts near and far chasing down the impossibly elusive store exclusive Legends Series Avengers. Wal-Mart’s terribly bad distribution, combined with the huge popularity of the movie have made these figures the hardest toys to find at retail this Summer, but they are absolutely worth the blood, sweat and tears it will take to find them.
