SDCC 2019- Mezco Booth Report

Mezco once again impressed collectors at SDCC with in-person looks as some things teased at Toy Fair.

Missing from the booth was Harley Quinn that debuted at Toy Fair, but that does not mean Mezco had nothing else to show off. The biggest reveals and most talked about was the new Conan figure and the Bluto figures to match the Popeye from the last year. We also got a look in person at the new Gambit One:12 along with Iron Fist and Morbius. For some reason, well I think it was the onesie look of the costume, Iron Fist was just ok. I think there were other ways to pull him off and not look like a smock, but Gambit looked amazing. On the DC side Wonder Woman was shown off to fans and the first in person look at Aquaman, who looked a little more orange than i would like but it could have also been the lights in the case.

What was both a surprise and deep need was the 5 Points line. The 5 poa lines have been going strong since Funko brought them back and did just about everyone, but the clean lines and bight colors of the Mezco figures gives their lines some legs. I never got the other Batman 66 line because it was harder to find all the figures and at a good price, but if Mezco can pull this off and have Batman and the old Superman team up with Scooby Doo I’m in. That is something I have wanted since I was 5 years old!
