Looking back, 2012 was a great year for gaming. Sure, it was home to the possibly the biggest disappointment of all time followed by the second biggest, but aside from that there was much fun to be had. Let’s take a look back at the ten titles we enjoyed the most.

While the bustling showfloor of New York Comic Con is currently home to a playable build of Hitman: Absolution, Square Enix treated us to an offsite showing where we were able to play through a sizable portion of the game at our own pace — and it rocked our socks.

Square Enix has issued a press release outlining what is possibly the most awesome pre-order bonus ever. Any North American gamers who have ordered Hitman: Absolution through GameStop will have immediate access (starting Tuesday, May 15th) to a stand-alone downloadable title called Hitman: Sniper Challenge — a mission tracked by online leaderboards in which players can compete for real-life prizes. In addition, the Kazo TRG sniper rifle that was previously announced to GameStop customers will first appear in this title and then be carried over into Hitman: Absolution along with any skills and upgrades you had earned in this preliminary title. While Gamestop is absent from the list, three big-box stores will get additional pre-order incentives on top of the ones that were previously announced.

Square Enix has just announced vendor-specific pre-order incentives for two of their most anticipated titles. Sleeping Dogs, the upcoming open-world cop drama, will be seeing a North American release of August 14th for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC with exclusive in-game content for customers who pre-order ahead of launch. Best Buy, GameStop and Amazon will all be offering completely different bonus for ordering through them, so let’s detail all the packs out to minimize confusion.
