Mattel’s 2013 Subscription Clubs Are Open

I figured I should let you know “officially” that Mattel’s 2013 Subscription services are open for sale, but only until August 6th.  That gives you just about two weeks to decide if you’re in for another year of Masters of the Universe or Club Infinite Earths… or Matty’s new Watchmen series.

SDCC 2012- Mattypallooza

The energy was high at the Mattypallooza panel this year, with all-new reveals, surprises, and even a new subcription series! There was a lot of chatter going into the event. The Create-a-Character winner was accidentally revealed on the Mattycollector website, deflating an otherwise impressive showing. Also in question was the status of properties like Voltron and Ghostbusters, and the advent of the new property. Toyguru Shows Off Complete Movie Masters Batsignal

DC Universe Infinite Earths Kicks Off With A Flash

Mattel Comic Con Exclusive Pre-Orders Are Live

Once again, Mattel is offering pre-orders for their 2012 Comic Con exclusive toys on MattyCollector.com.  Attendees of SDCC can place their orders now on the site and pick up their items in person at the show.  Over the holiday weekend, the toy company also revealed their Dark Knight Rises exclusive in an… interesting video featuring Marketing Manager Scott “Toy Guru” Neitlich and one heck of a cameo on his desk in the background.

Mattel Reveals Mekaneck Through Club Eternia Mailing List

Ask Mattel 5/1/2012: Why Young Justice Died So Young, Future MOTUC Reveals & More

Since last time we checked in with Mattel, we all received the total bummer news that the Young Justice toy line has been cancelled… In memory of that great toy line that left us all too soon, we dedicated more than a few questions this month to some YJ details, including Mattel’s thoughts on why the line couldn’t continue and the fate of the final 6″ waves shown at Toy Fair 2012.

On a more positive note, we also get a few hints on Matty’s plans for WWE deco changes, their new plans to reveal Masters of the Universe between Conventions and more– keep reading for all the answers!

Mattel Draws a Line in the Sand for Collectors

Mattel gives and Mattel takes away. The company’s plans for 2012 seem to revolve around a clear and decisive split between their “collector” toys and “kid” toys, and the news coming from Matty’s camp late last week seems to prove they’re taking this plan seriously.
