YES, There Is Finally A Movie Accurate Venom Toy Coming

Wal-Mart’s Blu Ray/ DVD exclusive will include a Venom action figure based on his cinematic appearance.

Venom kind of ruled.  It’s most definitely not a good movie in the traditional sense, but Tom Hardy’s dual performances at Eddie Brock and the symbiote are phenomenal, weird, and worthy of celebrating as the first super hero movie that is actually secretly a rom-com between a dude and an alien monster. It was certainly not what I expected from a comic book character whose whole thing is being aggro AF, and what we got was refreshingly strange in ways most comic book movies wouldn’t dare to consider.

I have a hunch I’ll be obsessively rewatching Venom many times over, so when preorders for the home release went live, I immediately decided to see who had the coolest exclusive edition. I thought I had a winner at Best Buy, who will drop a Steel Book with some cool, extra slimy and sinewy box art…

But then Wal-Mart stepped up, revealing an exclusive edition that includes a “retro style” Venom action figure. Could the 5 points of articulation figure be better? Sure. But to date, this is the only movie style Venom toy ever released– you can tell by the lack of a spider logo on his torso, and the surprisingly good looking headsculpt, which matches Venom’s on screen design quite well. I’m hoping this dude is in the ballpark or 4″ tall, but it’s hard to tell since there’s no sense of perspective in the Photo released. But regardless of size, it’s pretty awesome to finally have a movie style Venom action figure on the horizon.

You can preorder the Wal-Mart exclusive Blu Ray/ DVD/ action figure gift set at walmart.com.
