Boss Fight Studio continues to make the market’s best 3.75-inch figures, but 2019 marks their first ever Toy Fair!
Bucky O’Hare has a few new allies, Sam & Max join the party, and the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.s will now ride into battle with all-new Mighty Steeds. Big things really do come in small packages.
Vitruvian H.A.C.K.s have seen just about everything: elves, wizards, gorgons, gargoyles, soldiers. Blank bodies and accessories sets helped fuel the imagination for years now. The Mighty Steeds add a new play element. Boss Fight Studio gives us the first articulated horses and elks, fully articulated, and with a myriad of tacks, decos, wings, heads and other configurations to choose from. Elk? Unicorn? Horse? Pegasus? Centaur? You can choose all of the above.
I Am Brilliance is their fascinating first foray into doll territory. Each curious character will be outfitted for their respective endeavors. Rooted hair, signature facial and skin tone, and soft good outfits is an interesting and excitingly different new facet of Boss Fight Studio. I am rooting for this necessary brand.
For licensed properties, Sam & Max are an impressive addition to Boss Fight Studio’s portfolio. I know relatively little about them, and I don’t know what follows up the titular characters, but once again, the sculptors have proven themselves to be chameleons in artist likeness. I will be rewarding this with purchases. Bucky O’Hare has 2 new allies. Bruiser is appropriately larger and will be enclosed in special window box packaging. The big surprise was Jenny’s rival in Bucky’s affection: the foxy Mimi Lafloo. Getting through the main crew has been a labor of love, though few and far between. Getting to a fan favorite who never was on the radar in the original toyline became one of the most surprising reveals in Toy Fair.
Boss Fight Studio’s Toy Fair appearance, I hope, opens new door and business opportunities for them. I Am Brilliance has amazing potential, adding doll-play elements of clothes and rooted hair to the incredible sculpting the company is known for. Their home-grown Vitruvian H.A.C.K.s continue to expand with steeds, accessory packs, and character archetypes. Sam & Max and Bucky O’Hare’s toys only cement how talented the Boss Fight Studio team is. The product truly speaks for itself.
