Black and White Batgirl is featured in her new outfit from the “Batgirl of Burnside” story arc. This was the costume that the old school fanboys loved to hate– the redesign was to appeal more to the younger girl crowds. The look of this statue is simply stunning, with masterful sculpting by Irene Matar, based on the artwork of Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr.
The statue stands at 7.25″ high from base to cowl. The paint application is flawless. Batgirl literally feels like she was lifted from the pages of the comic– the detail of the tones on the costume are amazing, the cape is amazing, and the way her eyes were painted is simply amazing, I complained some on previous reviews about the mixture of matte and gloss paints used on these statues, but on Batgirl it worked extremely well without complaint. I sat and stared at this piece for about 30 minutes before I took pictures.
This statue was limited to 5,200 pieces and I happened to get lucky and grabbed #52 which excited this collector! The Batgirl statue will look amazing on the shelf with the rest of the Black and White collection. JQ gives this statue a 9.2/10! With a retail value of $79 you cannot go wrong.
