The Avengers sequel gets a surprise villain that really ties the universe together.
Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel at Comic Con just ended, and holy CRAP did it end on a high note! Joss Whedon made a surprise appearance to reveal that The Avengers sequel will be titled The Avengers: Age of Ultron, based on the comic series by Brian Michael Bendis.
Everything is starting to take shape now, from the cosmic angle of Guardians of the Galaxy, to Edgar Wright’s upcoming Ant Man, and even the daft rumors that Vin Diesel would be playing The Vision. I still can’t see that… but Ultron? I could see Diesel’s Iron Giant voice clanging from the fiery red maw of the deadly robot warlord.
The reveal came with a quick teaser, which saw Iron-Man’s helmet morph and reshape into Ultron’s head, and the entirety of Hall H reportedly exploded in cheers as soon as the clip ended. There’s a lot more to discuss from Marvel Studios’ hour of power tonight, but this news was too exciting not to share right away.
