It may be the worst kept secret of Comic Con at this point, but it’s still worth celebrating– Mattel’s Mattypalooza panel just wrapped up (our full recap is on the way) and possibly the biggest news was a brand new line of Thundercats figures, launching July 2016.
The figures will be released in a digital subscription, as Mattel has done in the past with Masters of the Universe, and they’re based on the classic 80s cartoon. Lion-O is up first next July, followed by Jackal Man in August. Mumm-Ra in his decayed form will be the subscription-only figure. It’s worth noting, these figure share tooling with the MOTU line, which is actually totally awesome, because both lines should integrate seamlessly… how awesome is that??
I’m definitely stoked about this. I was looking forward to taking 2016 off from MOTU, but I guess I’ll be sticking with MattyCollector longer than I had anticipated. I’m okay with that.
