Zing Toys brings us something that is pretty much unique to the current toy scene, Stikbots.
What is a StikBot? It is the world’s first social media sharing toy. With StikBot’s ability to mimic human motion, StikBot can be whatever you want where ever you want. The creativity starts with YOU. StikBot is fully articulated with head, shoulder, elbow, waist, leg, and knee joints movement. The hands and feet are suction cups that stick basically anywhere. They are also pretty durable.
There are (to my knowledge) 9 basic colors in the single packs and 2 variant colors in the deluxe 2 pack that comes with a tripod to hold your phone or tablet. There is mention on their website of an exclusive red Target version.
Download the free mobile app, Stikbot Studios, for iOS and Android. You can then shoot your own stop motion videos starring StikBot. You then can upload the movie you make to your favorite social media page and tag it with #stikbot. I bought one for each of my daughters (ages 10 and 6) and they have been playing with them non stop. The app is very user friendly and comes pre-loaded with sounds and music.
Price point on these are in the $5 range for single packs and $12 for the dual pack with tripod. These StikBots will bring countless hours of fun as the poses and animations are limitless.
I am also attempting to use them in the classroom for my animation lesson. JQ gives this new toy a 9.2/10 for pure fun and an awesome price point!
