The First Flash Returns

It looks like the new Flash series is getting some help from a former Flash. John Wesley Shipp has joined the cast of the show in an unnamed role.

Last night TV Line announced that former Barry Allen, John Wesley Shipp, will join the new cast of the Flash series, but the CW is not telling what role he will play. I was about 10 years old when he played the Flash, and I remember just being in awe of the effects and the suit. I know it was campy, and did not make it more than a season, but Shipp was a great Flash so adding him to the series is very exciting.

As for who he is playing in the show, no one knows yet. Fans are speculating he could be one of two people, Barry’s father in prison for the murder of his wife, or former speedster and first Flash Jay Garrick. Either role would be perfect for Shipp, but if he were to play Garrick it could lead to more JSA characters joining the CW/DC universe.

With each new casting announcement this show gets better and better, and it has not even aired. So who do you think Shipp will be playing in the new series?
