star-wars-figuarts-featBandai/Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts brand continues to produce amazing products of some of pop cultures greatest icons. You can tell the Force was with them when these Star Wars figures were produced.

When Bandai/Tamashii Nations S.H. Figuarts’ Star Wars figures were announced, the fans rejoiced. This brand has continuously produced quality sculpts with fantastic detail. Yes you are paying a higher price point as opposed to the Hasbro Black Series toy line, but in my honest opinion they are totally worth it. 100_2118

The first in the series was none other than the dark lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader. If you were one of the lucky ones, you were able to grab the preorder bonus of the Death Star window display stand. Vader comes with multiple hands to recreate iconic poses from the films. He even has the stump on his hand when Luke severed it in Episode VI. The cape is not as restrictive as you would think from a semi hard plastic. He has two light sabers– one extended and one not.100_2116

Second in the series was the Stormtrooper. This figure was my favorite as it is so simple yet poses very dynamically. The Trooper came with four sets of  hands and a blaster. The simple design of the uniform was recreated masterfully by the sculpting teams.

Next was Darth Maul, who comes with his dual light saber staff and two hilts that can be used as single blades. He is also packed with a spare head sculpt that shows a less angry grimace on his face. Maul is very intimidating to look at, and with his extra hands, the re-creation of the light saber battle on Naboo is perfect.100_2130

Finally we have Luke Skywalker via his Return of the Jedi look. I will say this now, this IS the quintessential Luke figure. Luke’s sculpt is uncanny as it looks JUST like Mark Hammill. His light saber can be placed on his belt in a sheathed look or you can put the blade in and give it the extended look. The gem in this box is the unmasked Darth Vader head as seen in the end of Jedi. You get three total gloved hands and three regular hands as well.

With many more figures announced, it seems the Force is not going anywhere anytime soon. Episode I Obi-Wan and Battle Droid, Episode II Clone Trooper, Episode VII Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and 1st Order Trooper have pre-sold out via Japanese web sites. Also shown at the Tamashii Nations 2015 show were Mace Windu, R2, 3P0, Han, Chewbacca, Episode IV Luke, Jango Fett, and General Grievous.100_2113

If you can get lucky to preorder these figures you will get them at about $40-48 before shipping cost. If you wait until release on the secondary market you are looking at $50-$80. It is a worth while investment as a collector or fan. These figures have me hooked just as the Marvel Avengers line. S.H. Figuarts has brought me to the dark side and you know what?  It is true there are cookies here!!
