Funko & Steve Jackson To Make Munchkin Toys

Funko lands yet another totally exciting toy property, based on one of the best games of all time.

I know it’s sort of become old hat to some folks, but I still maintain that Steve Jackson Games’ Munchkin is one of the greatest games of all time.  It’s a brilliant satire, ripping into every negative stereotype of socially inept power gamers ever, with a truly razor sharp wit.  But for all its barbs and venom toward lousy gamers, Munchkin is also totally silly, absurd and a hell of a lot of fun to play, one of the most unpredictable and entertaining games that’s ever hit my table.

So that brings us to why exactly today’s announcement from Funko is awesome– we’ve seen Munchkin figurines worked into the game itself before, but this 6″ vinyl figure of Spyke, the game’s perpetual mascot, is the first toy figure I’ve seen… and he looks great!

I’ll totally be adding this guy to my collection when he hits stores in November.  So now the big question remains, what leg up on my enemies will I have when I play a round of Munchkin with the Spyke toy by my side?  I can’t wait to find out!

Funko Munchkin Vinyl Figures in stores this November!

EVERETT, WA – July 10, 2014 – Funko is excited to announce a new licensing agreement with Steve Jackson Games to produce Munchkin Vinyl Figures.

Available this November, each Munchkin Spyke Vinyl Figure will stand 6 inches tall and come in a window display box. Ages 5+.
