Okay, so 2015 will technically bring us past the 35th anniversary of Ridley Scott’s masterpiece Alien… but we’re still going to see some new toys from the movie, courtesy of NECA and I am not at all complaining.
Aliens Series 4 is slated to hit stores next March, and will bring with it the first, ever Sigourney Weaver approved Ellen Ripley action figures! Our hero will be available in her flight suit and space suit (each packed with a unique version of Jonesy the cat), and she will be joined by the Nostromo’s captain, Dallas in his own space suit.
The new figures look great, and I cannot wait to add our hero to the Aliens collection… NECA truly worked some magic landing likeness rights from the notoriously stingy Weaver, but we’ve seen these toymakers pull off the impossible before (see: Dutch from Predator and the more recent Michael Keaton Batman figures), so I guess the take away is to never underestimate NECA.
Here’s some new images and more details on the next assortment of Aliens figures, direct from NECA:
Series 4 in our best-selling Alien action figure collection celebrates 35 years of the original Alien film with all-new character debuts! It includes two versions of Ellen Ripley — for the first time ever featuring the likeness of Sigourney Weaver — and Dallas in his Nostromo Spacesuit.
Ripley in Nostromo Jumpsuit comes with flamethrower and Jonesy the cat. Dallas in Nostromo Spacesuit comes with removable helmet, pistol and flashlight. Ripley in Nostromo Spaceuit comes with removable helmet, harpoon gun with two different attachments, and a frightened version of Jonesy the cat. Each fully articulated figure stands approximately 7″ tall and comes in special 35th Anniversary packaging.
