Gort & Klaatu Are Orbiting Amok Time

The Day the Earth Stood Still stars get the retro toy treatment from Amok Time.

Amok Time is a great store, and I really dig their in-house bran Monstarz, which has included the likes of Elvira, the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and the upcoming Herbert West, Re-Animator.  But their latest reveal changes things up, as they move away from 7″ scale figures into a more retro style for a special Day the Earth Stood Still two-pack featuring alien Klaatu and his robot ally Gort.

Both figures look great based on these images, and I think Klaatu and Gort are prime candidates to make the most out of the retro aesthetic.  I love the simple, iconic silhouette of Gort, and the alternate head for Klaatu is a great idea, one that allows his helmet to not look too big as if it were a removable accessory.
