Karl Urban & Alex Garland Say Dredd’s Not Dead

By bill - July 20, 2013

dredd-featWhen Karl Urban says a Dredd sequel will happen, a Dredd sequel will happen (possibly).

Ain’t It Cool is reporting that Karl Urban spoke at Comic Con yesterday and mentioned that Dredd, his 2013 comic adaptation that got literally EVERYTHING RIGHT but never found an audience… DID find that audience, on home video.  Well north of half a million units sold of the Blu Ray and DVD of the underrated, mega violent sci-fi actioner has opened up the possibility of a sequel.

However, right now the chances of this coming to be are based on how vocal fans of the first movie are willing to be– so if you’ve seen Dredd (and I hope you did), let’s start rattling some cages on Facebook, Twitter, forums and wherever we can!  If you haven’t seen it, I implore you to check it out as soon as possible, and you’ll quickly understand why the potential of a second go-around is a big deal…

…Especially when Garland’s concept for the sequel would roll in fan favorites like Judge Death!  Make some noise, Dredd fans– it might actually make a difference for once!
