The Man of Steel Arrives

Could there be a new reason to believe a man can fly? After watching the newest trailer for The Man of Steel it might be possible once again.

The first teaser for The Man of Steel ran before some copies of the Dark Knight Rises, but it left many fans disappointed. It did not show any real footage of the man with the big red “S”, but rather a lot of voice over work from the two fathers, and some scenes of Clark working a fishing boat up North.

The new trailer, however, shows a lot of footage of Henry Cavill in the costume as well as shots of Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), the Kents (Kevin Costner and Diane Lane), Zod (Michael Shannon) and Lois Lane (Amy Adams ). Each shot is more exiting than the last, showing off a lot of action that had only been seen by those who attended SDCC this year.  The trailer showed off both Metropolis and Smallville going though crisis at the mercy of alien ships, Superman in a mid-air battle with Zod, and possibly Superman not yet being the hero we have all come to know.

The poster released last week had a lot of fans disappointed but this trailer makes up for the blurry photo. There is a serious tone to the trailer making it feel like a Nolan film.  Considering what he was able to the do with the Caped Crusader, it’s a welcomed feeling. June can’t come fast enough for this DC fan, what about you?
