In this round of Mattel answers, Matty gives some new info on the Club Etheria program, plus a slight look ahead to 2016 and more. Read on for the latest!
Kastor’s Korner: While you are looking at the polls running right now on He-man.org for potential 2016 line-up ideas, are you still considering doing v2.0 characters as variants with improved articulation and plus up accessories? It appears even The Mighty Spector would benefit from double knee articulation and new laser weapons.
Mattel: Yes if we get to a 2016 line doing 2.0 upgrades is definitely on the table as a possibility, but not before then.
Kastor’s Korner: When Mattel revealed Snake Man-At-Arms at NYCC, they were able to use Trap Jaw’s legs due to fan feedback. How is it that Flogg is too late and not able to get fan-requested Modulok feet with the exact same amount of lead time?
Mattel: Not every year works the same way. Things in the toy industry change so often there isn’t always the same restrictions, resources or opportunities year to year.
Kastor’s Korner: Double Mischief was the latest figure to be “final” at her initial reveal, and customer feedback has been less than favorable about her action feature. Is there something Mattel can do to reveal figures so valuable Customer feedback can be given before the figure is outright into production and passed making changes?
Mattel: Unfortunately no. We can not show figures publically until after they go through an internal stage called “Final Product Review”. Usually when we are showing figures at shows it is the batch that has just made this milestone, sometimes by only days!
Kastor’s Korner: Flutterina’s prototype wings had a lot of constructive feedback for looking layered and “crafted” instead flat like “real” butterfly wings. Was Design able to flatten them for Production as requested? It’s hard to tell from the Toy Fair pictures I have seen.
Mattel: While we hear your concern, the wings most definitely still have the awesome 3D sculpted details the Horsemen and design intended. They are not flat.
Kastor’s Korner: Can Entrapta be painted with the same bright gold used on Light Hope, or even more of a silvery gold color like the vintage toy, if possible?
Mattel: Her gold is pretty bright. Hopefully you will like the final product!
