Mattel is back with another round of answers. It’s never too early to get into gear for Comic Con, and Mattel is getting the ball rolling. Plus, we have answers on 200X Masters variants and more. Get the latest here!
Kastor’s Korner: Will Mattycollector be introducing any new properties at SDCC 2014 or maybe even expanding existing IPs into Mattycollector (Hot Wheels, Monster High, WWE) for 2015?
Mattel: We’ll have the remaining 2014 items to announce for all brands (give or take) at SDCC. Nothing to announce right now in the Ask Matty forums.
Kastor’s Korner: What will the SDCC 2014 fan vote be at this year’s SDCC 2014 Mattypalooza panel?
Mattel: We will have to wait and see if there is a fan vote. At this time we do not have anything to announce. Perhaps as we get closer to the show.
Kastor’s Korner: What is your feeling on 200X He-Man variants in MOTUC? I see Snake Armor making the cut as an essential, but what about other favorites, like Ice-Armor He-Man, Fire-Armor Skeletor or even “200X” He-Man himself?
Mattel: We would definitely love to get to some 200X variants and yes Snake and Ice may be at the top of the list due to those actually appearing in the show. But in no way are either of them guaranteed. If we don’t get to them, they would definitely be good candidates for 2016 and beyond should we keep going!
Kastor’s Korner: You are great to ask the fans their feelings on removable armor, but why has the armor become thicker and roomier in the first place and prompting this debate? Fisto’s and Dekker’s armor are just about perfect, so why change what has already worked? Is it newer, more cost-effective plastics?
Mattel: Things are ALWAYS changing in the toy industry. New materials, costs, vendors, processes etc… There is no “one” way things are done forever.
Kastor’s Korner: When will we find out what the SDCC 2014 items will be?
Mattel: The same time frame as every year. Late April, early May. In fact the MOTUC Hordak and DCU Doomsday were revealed yesterday!
