Minimates Invade Walgreens

Diamond Select Toys are cranking out the Minimates in the Walgreens Exclusive line based on the Marvel animated world.

It took a wave or two to get the restock issues corrected by Walgreens, but now the Marvel Animated line are really starting to show up in force at the Walgreens stores. Within a couple of weeks I was able to find two sets I was excited to add to my collection. Coulson and Squirrel-Girl with a couple of Spider-men were must haves for me.

Both sets are based on the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon on Disney XD, but work perfect in the Marvel proper line. The Spider-man figures are basically the same with slight variations in the blues in the costume. The Coulson Spidey has a half mask head and webbing, while the SG Spidey has wide eyed head and a jet pack. Does anyone really need another Spider-Man? No, but getting the other two characters are worth the extra “clones”.

The real stars of the sets are of course original chracters. Squirrel-Girl is one of the most fun Minimates in the line. She no only looks perfect, but also comes with not one but three squirrels, as well as a couple of ice cream cones. Coulson has two forms; armored and a suit. For those collectors who army build a couple of Coulsons will make a great S.HI.E.L.D. army. For those of you that missed out on Coulson in the Thor movie set this is also a great way to grab him to add to your collection. As always grab them while you can, because Walgreens is moving through the waves fast.
