Mondo’s Iron Giant Action Figure Is Just Stunning

And he goes for preorder today!

Mondo– who have collectively released some of the finest movie poster prints in history– have started their venture into equally fine toys, and their next release really ups the game.  The Iron Giant deluxe figure is an absolutely gorgeous 18″ rendition of the hero of the beloved (and often under appreciated) classic animated movie.

The Giant is fully poseable with over 30 points of articulation, and is remarkably accurate to his cinematic design, down to every nut and bolt in his might frame.  He also comes with some truly great accessories, including an in-scale Hogarth, an alternate weaponized head, an alternate weaponized arm, a girder, and an “S” sign which connects to either the Giant’s chest (Superman style!) or to the Seafood sign it first came from.

An even more limited edition o the figure will also include the Giant’s disembodied hand, which Hogarth had to smuggle out of his house without his mom seeing it.

The Iron Giant deluxe figure goes up for preorder some time today at MondoTees.com.  He’ll set you back $300 ($315 for the limited edition version with the hand).  That’s a steep price tag, but for a figure this gorgeous, I feel he’d be well worth it.

I am brutally envious any of you that can afford this guy.

Mondo worked to obtain the digital files used in the film to create the most accurate and detailed Iron Giant figure to date.

The figure features over 30 points of articulation and a variety of accessories allowing you to transform the Iron Giant into all of his notable incarnations. You’ll receive two interchangeable heads with light-up eyes, a magnetic “S” that can be detached from a Seafood sign and attached to his chest, switch-out “War Arm” when things get tense, a Hogarth mini-figure, and of course, a girder to munch on. Additionally, the figure includes a sound feature with favorite Iron Giant quotes from the film. The limited edition “Hand Under Foot” accessory (the Iron Giant’s detached hand that gets loose in the farmhouse) will be available exclusively through our website.
