NECA Debuts Glow-In-The-Dark Robocop

NECA unveiled an all-new Robocop variant coming soon to Toys R Us, and it’s an awesome blast from the past!

Robocop is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, and NECA is totally having fun with this new TRU exclusive that’s a complete throwback to the awesomely cheesy glowing figure released by Kenner back in 1989.  The new “Night Fighter Robocop” sports the same glowing feature as his much-loved (at least, by me) 80’s predecessor, and even includes all-new packaging adapted from the looks of Kenner’s original toy line!

Completely.

Awesome.

Children of the ’80s, rejoice! When I turned 25, all I got was the ability to legally rent a car, but then again, I’ve never been a cyborg police hero, so it makes sense that we’re giving Robocop the deluxe treatment to mark the 25th anniversary of the franchise. Today, we’re proud to unveil our latest Toys R Us exclusive: Night Fighter Robocop!

And we all know nothing can stop Robocop — it says it right on the package! — but nothing cements immortality quite like an action figure. We’ve done plenty of other Robocop action figures before (like the regular 7″ and battle damaged versions), there’s something about the idea of a glow-in-the-dark edition that gets our collector hairs — don’t ask where they are — to stand on end.
