NYCC 2018: On The Floor With Diamond Select Toys

Diamond Select Toys once again brought an impressive showing to New York Comic Con!

The ever expanding world of Diamond Select Toys showed off the new Jon Wick figures in just about every scale they do, and announced that Bruce Lee is coming to all their scales. The Select lines have always been well executed, and the John Wick figure continues that trend. Talked about for most of 2018 it was great to see all the Wick products together in the booth. The Vinimates were the real stand outs for me, capturing the essence of the character perfectly.

Kingdom Hearts is also in full swing offering up figures in every scale also. The addition of Mickey and Donald to the Gamestop statue roster is great, and seeing that hooded Mickey in an up coming wave of Selects is just too far away for the collector inside me. The translucent Shadow also came out amazing, and hopefully we will see them in multiple packs to we can add to our armies.

Where DST is really shinning these days is the statues, making it affordable to get great pieces of art. Most people flock to the other companies to get statues for their collections, but I don’t want to have to sell off my first born to get a Hulk or Iron Man. DST has found that middle ground working with great designers to bring real looking sculpts at reasonable prices. From the higher end lines right down to the PVC pieces they are just what you need to decorate your geek cave.

There was not a lot of news on the Minimates front for Marvel, but with Walgreens supporting the line, and online retailers continuing to carry the lines there is sure more to come from the longest continually running Marvel toy line.
