Don’t Panic: Marvel Legends Wave 3 Variants Are Still Coming

By bill - December 24, 2012

Despite expected online doom and gloom, Hasbro confirmed the four variants that have yet to surface from Marvel Legends Wave 3 are still on the way.

Running change variants can be a dangerous game, and one that has blown up for Hasbro in the past (see Marvel Universe short hair Black Widow and white shirt Luke Cage), but they’ve opted to continue this two-tiered approach for Marvel Legends Wave 3.  The assortment has seen only limited distribution anyhow, surfacing at a few Toys R Us and Wal-Mart stores in the Fall, before turning up for amazing prices on Hasbro Toy Shop and Amazon this Holiday season, but everything we’ve seen has been the first assortment, leading many to question whether the variants like Dani Moonstar, Blade, Future Foundation Dr. Doom and red Deadpool were still coming.

Marvelous News is reporting that they confirmed with Hasbro the four missing variants are indeed still on the way, and should hit stores sometime between now and the end of January.  This is good news for collectors who want to add these guys to their collections, however it may create a bit of a bottleneck, as ML wave 4 (the Hit Monkey series) is also slated for release in January.

So start saving that Christmas cash now, because January is shaping up to be one Legendarily Marvelous month for new toys!
