‘Powers’ TV Adaptation May Be Coming To Playstation

Powers was a really good comic book.  I was an avid reader of the book by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming for years, and as such I’ve been following the news of the long-in-the-works TV adaptation on and off as well.

I thought the show was still being developed for FX, who filmed a pilot for their version, but I guess that never came to pass.  Instead, Sony is now re-working the series from the ground up, with intent to make it available on Playstation, which is breaking in to the streaming TV market.  The deal is for a 10-episodes season, with Falling Skies‘ Remi Aubuchon and comic book writer Charlie Huston serving as showrunners.

While I’m glad we’re seeing such an exciting variety of content and providers in this digital/ on demand era, as a die hard Netflix guy I’m not sure even a show as exciting to me as Powers would motivate me to buy a PS3.  But it certainly won’t stop me from hanging out with a friend who already owns one, and likes good comics.
