Sam Raimi Says An Evil Dead TV Show Is In The Works

ash-featThe Deadites may soon be invading the small screen, according to writer Sam Raimi.

Some of my favorite Comic Con moments are always the left-field announcements– sure, we’re all just waiting for The Rock to confirm for reals that he’s playing Shazam, or for Joaquin Phoenix to walk out on the Hall H stage when Marvel announces he is their Dr. Strange… but I certainly was NOT expecting to hear about an Evil Dead TV show!

But sure enough, during the Screen Gems panel where Sam Raimi announced his Last of Us movie, the director also dropped the bomb that he was writing an Evil Dead TV show.  Not only that, he said Bruce Campbell is involved, as well as Ivan Raimi.

That was all Raimi had to say, so no idea if this show will be its own thing, or pick up after Army of Darkness…. or taking place after the Evil Dead reboot.  I’m hopeful we’ll find out more about this potentially cool project soon enough…
