SDCC 2017: Super7 Unleashes More Masters of the Universe Classics

By bill - July 20, 2017

Eight new MOTU Classics just made their debut at Comic Con.

Super7’s post-Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics are not slowing down, as they revealed a brand new wave of both the Club Grayskull and Collectors Choice subsets at their pop-up shop at Comic Con.  And once again, they’ve come up with an ambitiously diverse mix of figures sure to offer something to make every MOTU fan happy.

Club Grayskull will see more Filmation style figures join the line in Classics style, including Mer-Man, Tung Lashor, Sorceress (with a very nice new set of wings), and Man-E-Faces.

But the real bit of excitement, in my opinion, was the new wave of Collectors Choice figures.  The Rock Warriors will get rounded out with the inclusion of Grantia, while the Horde Mummy gets pulled straight from the pages of The Power and the Honor Foundation Catalog into plastic.  Karg’s first-ever action figure is a pleasant surprise, continuing the live action movie subset started with Blade and Saurod… and speaking of first-time figures, Dylamug finally gets his moment!  The Filmation villain was slated for release during the vintage MOTU years, but Mattel canceled him.  It’s awesome that Super7 is finally fixing this two-plus decades old mistake.
