Two-Bad kicked off Masters of the Universe Classics for 2014 exactly as fans desired. Gone are the concept and prototype characters, and instead is a focus on line completion of the major factions.
Was Blade from the He-Man movie the one that would make or break your commitment to Matty Collector in 2014? Don’t fret, you can sign up for Club Eternia for four more days!
One thing our June figure Octavia has over the other prior releases this year is the sheer amount of accessories she packs. She feels like a $25 figure (and even a $27 figure) for day of sale purchasers. I have always been a fan of action figures that come with a lot of accessories, including…
The Snake Men are filling out quite nicely.
As in years past, Mattel is offering a “Traveling” convention exclusive Masters of the Universe figure in 2013– cosmic enforcer Strobo. However, they tried something new this year, offering a (very) limited number of Strobo figures to Early Access Club Eternia subscribers… months before he makes his Con debut. His lightning-fast sellout has caused an…
A staple of the classic animated series, Fang man has finally been captured in plastic as one of the March releases for Masters of the Universe. While considered part of the general line, he offers promise for the upcoming Club Filmation collection… although he, himself inadvertently became an exclusive.
Jitsu accompanies Ram Man as the second MOTUC offering for February, and like Netossa and Ram Man, there were design choices that I wish the fans were made aware of sooner so we could give that constructive feedback, which leave Jitsu an excellent figure instead of one of the best in the line.
The final core character from Masters of the Universe finally smashes his way into the Classics line… and Ram Man was well worth the wait.
I am having a déjà vu of sorts. It was this time last year that the 2011 MOTUC line finished in style with the exciting Wind Raider. Now Granamyr, the oldest and wisest dragon of Darksmoke, has graced my doorstep (albeit delayed) courtesy of Matty Collector. He had a lot of expectations to live up…
2012 was a whirlwind year for Masters of the Universe! As far as the selection goes, it was easily their most diverse year, but how they spread those releases out was other story. The other hot-button issue this year was the spotty design choices now headed by Ruben Martinez. It certainly was another year of…
Mosquitor is the final monthly Masters of the Universe Classics figure of 2012, and while there isn’t much to him, he does finish the year’s Club Eternia on something of a high note.
Rounding out the year, December gave us a mighty magic force of Eternia… Procrustus is the third giant introduced in the Masters of the Universe Classics line, and he does not disappoint.
Castle Grayskullman rounds out the 30th Anniversary– and November’s Masters of the Universe offerings– in an amazing way.
Dekker, first introduced in the 200x series, joins the cast of Masters of the Universe Classics this month. While he’s not the most relevant character that could have been included, he features a great new design and serves to round out the history of the 200X era Masters.
Masters of the Universe Classics are winding down for 2012, and they backloaded the year with quite a motley crew. November’s entries are King Randor in his Filmation Monarch robes, Man-At-Arms’ 200X trainer Dekker, and the final entry in the 30th Anniversary, Castle Grayskullman! None of the entries are necessarily warranted releases– each come with…
