TMNT Blind Bag Minimates from Diamond Select Toys

Diamond Select Toys has many properties under their umbrella with the Minimates licence, and they show why they have them all with this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set.

These TMNT minimates came in individual blind bags with a possible 9 in the set. Offered in this 1st wave was Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, April, Shredder, Foot Solider, Footbot, and Mutagen version (clear green) Michelangelo or Raphael (which is the chase figure). Each case had 2 sets of the core figs and 1 of the Mutagen version. SDCC in 2014 had a Mutagen version of Mikey(in orange) and Leo(in blue).

If you collect minimates then you know these are not articulation heavy, but there is enough articulation to pose in non vanilla poses. Each come with their specific weapons. These are all small parts so I do not recommend for small children as there is a huge risk for a chocking hazard. The weapons are thin and the plastic is very bendable. Mikey’s nun chucks have chains on them which surprised me and made me VERY happy. The Footbot comes with a ton of detachable weapons and a few spare arms to attach in many different ways.

Paint applications were not bad for as small as these figures are. You could gripe about Raphael’s crack on the front of his shell not being painted all the way, but COME ON MAN it is a 2 inch mini figure!

I had fun with these minimates and the thought of a blind bag random grab was fun as well! JQ gives the Diamond Select Toys TMNT Minimates a 7.5/10.
