The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles might be just what their names suggest, after director Michael Bay clears up some confusion about his next project.
In an interview with Moviefone Bay tired to calm some fears TMNT have about his take on the classic franchise.
“There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We’re not. It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they’re going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great.”
After reading through the rest of the article Bay also states that he is protective of Transformers franchise and thinks he is doing what is right for that franchise. He sites the number of people who went to see the third film, and says that that is proof that fans like the film. Millions of people also watch the Real House Wives of whatever city, that does not mean it is a quality show. It’s clear after three Transformers films Bay will do what he wants with the characters, so how will Bay twist our beloved Turtles? Only time will tell.
