Toy Fair 2018- Super 7

By junior - March 2, 2018

All of the signature brands from Super 7 are back for another round of throwback goodness, along with a some new surprises. Reaction, M.U.S.C.L.E., Keshi Surprise!, and everything from tumbler glasses to t-shirts and halloween buckets are here for the choosing. Whether it’s He-Man, Transformers, G.I.Joe, Universal Monsters, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, or She-Ra, there’s something for everyone.

Super7 has had a long bumpy road with the Masters of the Universe brand. Following the Ultimates and Power Con figures, at long last, finished samples of the their first Collector’s Choice and Club Grayskull assortments that debuted this time last year are shipping now. Joining them are wave 2 (currently slated for May 2018), as well as retooled samples of the vintage-style figures from both wave 1 and 2. ReAction figures of Scareglow, Evil-Lyn, Faker, Mekaneck, Orko, and Ram-Man were unveiled as well. Lastly, the M.U.S.C.L.E.-style Keshi Surprise! figures of the Horde, She-Ra, and her allies are coming, with a few more reveals promised for later in the year.

Super7’s will be expanding on the Keshi Surprise! family of figures beyond She-Ra and He-Man. Figures for the Worst, Transformers, Alien, Legends of Lucha Libre, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, and Masters of the Universe will also get the mystery pack treatment. Each box will be randomly packed with different characters and colors. A character-specific sticker is also included. Some designs may be tweaked before final release, and the boxes will be universally sized, so bulkier characters (like Pee-Wee’s Globey) aren’t so easily targeted. It will be an impressive feat to see who can collect them all.

The ReAction figures continue to impress with their nostalgic brands. The Halloween series with suspense icon Alfred Hitchcock is an immediate standout. We are also treated to new figures based on Hellboy, the Worst, Universal Monsters, and the aforementioned Masters of the Universe.

Superbuckets, enamel pins, t-shirts, toy-centric glassware, and Soapies make Super7 such a creative force in the toy industry. Everything about their products scream fun, with loving nods to the vintage brand expressions that inspired them, originating both here and abroad. While some products haven’t always adhered to the execution expected by their discriminating clientele, they continue to listen, improve, and innovate. That is something to be applauded, and their Toy Fair 2018 offerings are proof of that.
