I went scouring through the stacks to find something…well, different than the capes, cowls and masks that I usually read. I stumbled upon J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell’s Danger Girl.
This story, dubbed “The Chase,” was written by Andy Hartnell and featured AMAZING art by Harvey Tolibao. The Danger Girls are a group of uber hot super spies that tend to get into more trouble than they stop, and in this story they do not disappoint.
On the trail of a very important and very dangerous briefcase, the Danger Girls play a game that can possibly end the world. Abbey, Sydney, and Sonya use any, every, and all means to retrieve a time bomb before it counts down to the ultimate danger… the end of the world!
If you like action, massive splash pages of wonderful art, girls in skintight outfits, more action, and a nice pace of writing then this book is for you. There are other Danger Girl books out there as IDW has been releasing them in four to five book arcs every now and then. This TPB collects issues 1-4 of “The Chase.”
The art gets a 9 out of 10– the book is beautiful to look at… and not just for the girls! The writing gets an 8 out of 10, due to the predictabilty of the whole spy genre story. That means the overall JQ rating for Danger Girl: The Chase is an 8.75 out of 10. You can find the issues in your local shops back issue bin, or seek out the trade paperback from IDW.
