The Wachowskis Get Epic For Jupiter Ascending Trailer

jupiter ascending featThe mysterious movie from The Matrix creators gets an intriguing trailer.

We don’t know much about Jupiter Ascending, the new film from the Wachowskis, and even after the first trailer– which dropped today– much of what to expect is still a mystery.. aside from the obvious:

1.  We will see lots of arresting visuals

2.  We will see Channing Tatum rock eyeliner and silly hair

3.  We will likely see some existential metaphors with varying degrees of subtlety

In all seriousness, I love how big and wild this trailer gets.  Things start off calm, but about the halfway point marks a shift to total Heavy Metal-esque space opera territory, with Mila Kunis as a Princess, space castles and all the trappings of a great fantasy sci-fi story.  What that story is, we’ll have to wait and see, but the Wachowski name still carries a lot of influence as far as I’m concerned, and their stamp is all over this.

Jupiter Ascending hits theaters next July.
