Watch the Final Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Trailer

Dude.  How good is this latest trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes?  A movie whose July release date seemed like eons in the future, and is now less than a month away?

I love everything about it– the giddy thrill of an ape army on horseback, the gun trick Koba(?) plays on a pair of puny humans, the bromance between Caesar and Jason Clarke… the apes look even more photo realistic this time out, and their society-turned-army even more impressive in scope and scale than the gathering on the bridge in Rise.

This latest trailer also suggests we’ll be seeing something of a yin-yang story play out, as the peace loving Caesar and Jason Clarke find opposition from angrier, more warlike Koba and Gary Oldman, respectively.

What i find thrilling is how these new Apes movies are still more blazing a new path than serving as prequels to the classic series.  This means, we don’t really, actually know how this is all gonna play out.  Aside from awesomely, I guess:

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes hits theaters July 11th. I’ll be the first one in my theater, for sure.
