With wave 12 just announced (check out the pictures at Critical Mess), collectors’ heads are spinning. Mattel seems to be playing a cat and mouse game with the collectors minds. Just when we think that Mattel does not get it, they surprise us with a Dr. Mid-Nite. No matter how negative and upset the fans get, Mattel is able to win a lot of them back. It is a wonder that the fans are willing to come back time and time again after all the distribution issues. These are harder to find than the Toy Biz days of Marvel Legends. It seems like every time people say they are out, the collecting bug bites them and they are back in the game. From the new Darkseid to the start of the Metal Men, DC Universe classics is a line that will define DC toys for generations to come. It will take an super amount of hunting to keep up with all the figures coming out. On the other hand, the help from fellow collectors and getting sets at places like Enchanted Toy Chest makes the hunt less stressful. Even though most people will have a hell of a time finding these at retail, an extra set of eyes on the hunt might not be a bad idea. Otherwise, boys, you’ll be stuck with a case of the toy collector blues.\
